We collect information you provide directly to us, such as:

• Profile information (height, weight, activity level, dietary preferences)
• Household size, budget and location information you enter during onboarding
• Food and recipe data you input, scan or save
• Usage data and preferences
• Account information (email address, and your name if you sign in with Apple or Google)

We also collect information automatically through your use of our services, including device information, app usage patterns, crash diagnostics and analytics data.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide personalised nutrition and grocery recommendations
• Analyse food costs and nutritional value
• Improve our services and user experience
• Send you important updates about your account
• Provide customer support

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Your data is securely stored using industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

Your profile and usage data are stored securely on our servers and are only accessible to you through your account. Data may be stored and processed on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States, and is therefore subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• With your explicit consent
• To comply with legal obligations
• To protect our rights and the safety of our users
• With service providers who assist in our operations, under strict confidentiality agreements

We do not share your personal data with advertisers or marketing companies.

We rely on the following third parties to operate Frugalicious. Each processes only the data needed for its function, and each has its own privacy policy that we encourage you to review:

• Supabase — account authentication and database hosting
• Google Firebase — push notifications
• Apple and Google — optional single sign-on, if you choose to use it
• RevenueCat, together with the Apple App Store and Google Play — subscription management and payment processing
• PostHog — product analytics
• Sentry — crash and error reporting

Payment card details are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card number.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data
• Withdraw consent and opt out of certain communications

To exercise these rights, contact us through the app or at support@frugalicious.app. We will respond within the timeframes required by Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the app after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
